Bless Rockstar. They might be amazing at creating worlds, but on the controls front, they’re kind of stuck in the last generation. Luckily, they also provide a solution! Go into the options and head to “third person controls.” Change this to “standard FPS.” Next go to “accessibility”, “running mode” and change it to “toggle to run,” and you’ll no longer have to tap X/A to sprint! Instead, you’ll just have to click in the left stick, with crouch moved to
If there’s one thing we all need to take away from Red Dead Redemption II ’s design it’s that realism is not necessarily a good thing. Mind you, the game’s more real moments are not detrimental to the whole experience, but they bog the game down considerably. Want to walk from point A to point B? Get used to Arthur moving at a snail’s p
Okay, so you’ve bonded with your horse. What exactly does that get you? Well, it turns out there are quite a few different benefits to having a horse in your corner. There are some gradual bonuses; the more you’ve bonded with your horse, the further your horse will be willing to gallop on its own when it hears you whistle. It’s certainly not going to run across the map when you call, but the range definitely does improve. And, the more you bond with your horse, the less likely it is to get stolen. Apparently those talks about “Stranger Danger” paid off. Your horse will also be willing to wade into deeper waters with you, and generally be fine with going into sketchier terr
Arthur Morgan is not a heartless crook all of the time, especially if he is being controlled by a kind-hearted player. A player can, if he or she so chooses, give money to homeless people if they catch them begging on the stre
Bigfoot has been synonymous with Rockstar games since 2004’s Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas . There is a picture in your house fans thought was a clue to its discovery, but it wasn’t in the game. This continued into the first Red Dead Redemption and Grand Theft Auto V and is back yet again for this g
During the course of his rough-and-tumble adventures, Arthur Morgan gets pretty dirty. It doesn’t help that the roads he travels on are sometimes just muddy tracks in the earth. If you get soiled enough, other NPCs will comment on Arthur’s rundown st
Once there you’ll see the wreckage of a crazy looking flying contraption with a skeleton in it. This is probably a reference to the Wright Brothers who started building machines in 1899. This is one of their failed attempts perh
This would also make for a really creepy quest in a paranormal DLC. So if you head west of Van Horn Trading Post, you will find a lone cabin in the woods. In it, you’ll find a bunch of unnerving experiments. The creepiest of which is, well, I don’t know how else to put it. Whoever lived in this house made a ManBearPig. Yep, this is a realistic version of the joke from South Park . That’s what a lot of people believe online any
Which allowed Rockstar to pull the same stunt get again with Red Dead Redemption 2 patch notes Dead Redemption II. The back of the box even explicitly states to keep an eye out for the online component. This is not done in good will either. It likely does need further development time, but this is just as much a means of advertising RDR2 twof
Red Dead Redemption II is an awesome game. One I’ve been pouring over for more than a week now. I’m discovering new things every day as well as the larger community of fans out there. Compared to most open world games, discovery is actually a tricky thing because travel is actually really taxing. Before I get to share some unique mechanics, treasure, and quests, let me complain a bit further about the fast travel system. A system I have posted my frustration about twice now with my two earlier articles. If you missed my piece on things that don’t make sense in the game, or my article on things I wish I knew before starting, well then please, take a gander at those. Anyway in order to properly make my point clear I thought it best talk about last year’s The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wi
Red Dead Redemption 2 is one of the best games of the year. I shouldn’t have to state why this is the case to anyone who has played it, but just in case you haven’t, let me fill you in. The game… is… awesome! The story is a moving tale about one of the last few bands of outlaws left in the West. They are a close-knit group of people, more of a family than a gang, but you have to watch as the ties that bind them slowly unravel. Given that Red Dead Redemption 2 is a prequel, we more or less know that the Van der Linde gang will fall apart , but that makes it no less tragic when it happ
